
Welfare cases down 0.2% in November

The total caseload for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance dropped by 489 cases, reaching 195,988 in November, a decrease of 0.2% compared to October, the Social Welfare Department reported.

Low-earnings cases fell by 1.8% to 1,394. Single-parent and unemployment cases decreased by 0.6% to 19,265 and 16,251, respectively.
Additionally, permanent disability cases also dropped by 0.5% to 16,792, and old age cases declined by 0.1% to 110,551. Ill-health cases remained unchanged at 27,851.
