Visa offers tap-to-pay for Hong Kong tram commuters

Commuters can now tap-to-pay their tram fares in Hong Kong

Digital payments platform, Visa, has partnered with Hong Kong Tramways (HKT) to offer commuters an easy payment feature.

According to a press statement, this is the longest promotion offered by the tram company.

Beginning 6 July to 31 December, commuters will enjoy convenient rides with a tap-to-pay feature in order to pay their tram fares.

Visa holders can transact contactless using credit, debit or prepaid cards, as well as mobile wallets.

Fares are discounted to HK$1 per single-ride ticket priced at HK$3.
