Towngas, Ant Digital sign $100m real-world asset tokenisation project

The RWA tokenisation will be used for Towngas’ telecom arm.

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) completed its first real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation project with Ant Digital Technologies, a $100m credit facility as the underlying asset for its subsidiary Towngas Telecom (TGT).

TGT operates data centres and fixed network services.

The $100m credit facility for TGT will be utilised to develop artificial intelligence (AI) data centres, AI Internet of Things solutions, and cross-border infrastructure projects, Towngas said.

Through the RWA tokenisation of loan information, key financial and operational data will be uploaded onto the blockchain in real time for verification by authorised institutions, it added.

Towngas and Ant Digital signed this partnership during Hong Kong FinTech Week 2025.
