Tai Po site offered for tender to build EV fast charging station

It covers about 683.8 square metres.

The government has put up a site in Tai Po for public tender to develop a fast charging station (FCS) for electric vehicles (EVs).

Located at Nos. 1M and 1N Kwong Fuk Road, Tai Po Town Lot No. 264 covers about 683.8 square metres. The tender will close on 14 November.

The initiative supports the government’s plan to end new registrations of fuel-propelled private cars by 2035 or earlier.

To meet rising demand for charging facilities, more petrol filling stations are being converted into FCSs.

Last year, two sites in Kowloon East and New Territories East were sold for the same purpose. Officials said additional sites will be tendered based on market demand.
