SUNRATE joins Hong Kong strategic enterprise programme

Payments firm plans deeper fintech investment.

SUNRATE has signed with Hong Kong’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, becoming a strategic enterprise in the city as it expands its global payments and treasury operations.

The company said Hong Kong would serve as a key base in its global strategy, citing the city’s regulatory framework, compliance regimes for sectors such as virtual assets and Web3, international talent pool, and links to the Greater Bay Area.

SUNRATE said it would increase investment in Hong Kong and deepen its fintech innovation capabilities, whilst strengthening its cross-border payments and global treasury management business.

It also plans to expand into blockchain and Web3 digital finance under what it described as compliant innovation.
