Public feedback on FTA with Peru sought

Those interested may send feedback until 24 December.

The government has asked the public to offer their views on Hong Kong’s bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) with Peru.

Interested parties may send their feedback via email until 24 December.

The government said the consultation will help them gauge which areas of the Peruvian market are of interest to the local business community.

FTA negotiations between Hong Kong and Peru will kickstart in January 2023.

The government earlier stressed that Peru is an important trading partner of Hong Kong as it ranked fifth among the city’s merchandise trading partners in Latin America in 2021.

It added that a bilateral FTA with Peru will provide a platform for the city’s traders and investors to exploit untapped business and investment opportunities.
