Prudential Hong Kong introduces ophthalmology direct billing at EKMC

EKMC is the first full-block ambulatory medical centre under HKBH.

Prudential Hong Kong expanded its partnership with Hong Kong Baptist Hospital (HKBH) by collaborating with the HKBH East Kowloon Medical Centre (EKMC) to offer direct billing services for ophthalmology treatments.

Starting 31 March, eligible Prudential customers can benefit from the Medical Expenses Direct Billing Service at EKMC, aimed at enhancing healthcare convenience and reducing waiting times.

EKMC, which opened on 31 December, is the first full-block ambulatory medical centre under HKBH. It offers a range of services, including general and specialist outpatient care, day surgery, dialysis, chemotherapy, physiotherapy, nutrition, rehabilitation, and disease management.

Prudential now plans to gradually extend the direct billing service to other outpatient services at EKMC, fostering a more comprehensive and patient-centric healthcare ecosystem.

According to Prudential’s “2024 H1 Individual Life Claims Report,” 42% of claims processed through the direct billing service as of June 2024 were for day surgeries, reflecting strong demand.
