
HSBC nabs Deutsche banker for North Asia and HK head of Global Private Banking
She joins from Deutsche Bank.
HSBC has appointed Kanas Chan as head of Global Private Banking, North Asia and Hong Kong, effective 14 April 2025.
Chan joins from Deutsche Bank.
She is tasked with driving the growth priorities and performance for the private bank across Hong Kong, Taiwan and offshore mainland China markets.
HSBC’s Global Private Banking business in Asia achieved record profits for the full year 2024, with a double-digit year-on-year revenue growth in every quarter, supported by a 21% increase in invested assets, to US$199b.
Chan will be based in Hong Kong. She reports to Lok Yim, Regional Head, Global Private Banking, Asia Pacific, and Maggie Ng, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, Hong Kong.
Chan joined Deutsche Bank in 2007 and has held several senior positions in their wealth management business, most recently as Head of North Asia for the private bank.
Prior to that, she led the capital markets business in Wealth Management Asia Pacific.
Before joining Deutsche Bank, Chan also worked at Citi Private Bank and DBS Private Bank.
