Hong Kong, Singapore renew energy MoU covering AI and digital grids
The pact will also focus on electricity and gas systems and low-carbon technologies.
Hong Kong’s Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) and Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) have renewed their agreement to strengthen collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), digital grids, and low-carbon technologies.
The memorandum of understanding, signed on 12 October, covers electricity and gas systems and markets, renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation, and district cooling.
Both sides will also deepen cooperation through multilateral forums, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Energy Working Group.
The agreement builds on the partnership established between the two agencies in 2020.
"As our energy systems evolve, we look forward to deepening our exchanges in emerging areas such as AI and digital grids," EMA Chief Executive Puah Kok-keong said.
