Hong Kong boosts tourism with staycation discounts, promo codes

Offers are limited per hotel and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched another round of the spend-to-redeem Staycation Delights programme. Eligible members of the public can make a staycation booking starting 7 September.

On top of this, there is a $64.32 (HKD 500) discount with the promo code HKSTAY, rendering some packages technically free of charge.

The new programme has a quota of 20,000 in 146 participating hotels, with 20 are new to the programme. It includes an art hotel that provides guests with unique cultural experiences full of Hong Kong characteristics and a package including visiting residential sampans, suitable for families, couples, and groups of friends.

To be eligible for the programme, the customer must be at least 18 years old with at least a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine received in Hong Kong before check-in, as well as an HKID cardholder. They also have to have a maximum of two original machine-printed receipts with a total of at least $103 (HKD 800) spending in physical retail or dining outlets in Hong Kong between 16 August and 31 October 2021, with the receipts specifying the merchant’s name, spending items, date and amount.

The list of participating hotels and their availability can be found here.
