HKT boosts 5G capacity to 25Gbps at 3 mega-event venues
This is aligned with the government's push for a mega-event economy.
HKT Limited has become the first telecommunication service provider in Hong Kong to deploy a 25Gbps mobile backhaul infrastructure solution, improving the reliability and connectivity of the 5G network.
This is in line with the government’s efforts for a mega-event economy, with the project covering three locations: Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong Coliseum, and Hong Kong Velodrome.
The deployment will address the data demands from large crowds, reducing congestion and latency whilst enhancing speeds and reliability, the company said in a press release.
“This advancement not only delivers better digital experiences and enriches everyday life for our customers, but also lays a strong foundation for Hong Kong’s next-generation smart city development,” said Bruce Lam, CEO, Consumer, HKT.
