HK ranks 17th in the 2023 Global Innovation Index

In Asia, the city ranked 5th.

Hong Kong ranked 17th in the latest edition of the  Global Innovation Index published by the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

WIPO scores markets in the index on two broad areas, innovation inputs and outputs, and uses 80 indicators to rank 132 markets by their capacity for and success in innovation.

Hong Kong received a total score of 53.3.

Meanwhile, the report also revealed that the  Shenzhen–Hong Kong–Guangzhou technology cluster is amongst the biggest science and technology clusters in the world, ranking second behind Tokyo-Yokohama.
