Gov’t suspends Causeway Bay restaurant Food Business Regulation breach
This will be until 7 September.
The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (FEHD) has suspended a general restaurant in Causeway Bay for 14 days after the licensee repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation (FBR) by extending the business area illegally.
In a statement, a FEHD spokesman said the restaurant licensee was fined $5,600 and received 30 demerit points after being convicted of the same violation in May and June this year. This resulted in a 14-day suspension of their licence.
Prior to this, the government said the concerned licensee had a record of two convictions for the same offence in July and September of last year. A total fine of $5,100 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered, leading to a seven-day licence suspension last December.
Food premises must comply with all food safety regulations, the spokesman reminded. Failure to do so may result in licence suspension or cancellation.
