Gov't appoints new permanent secretaries, buildings director

Ho Chun-hung has been promoted to director of buildings.

The government has announced three senior appointments.

Kevin Choi, currently permanent secretary of the chief executive's office, will become permanent secretary for transport and logistics on 14 April.

Hinny Lam Shuk-yee, deputy head of the chief executive’s policy unit, will replace Choi as permanent secretary of the chief executive’s office on the same day.

Meanwhile, Ho Chun-hung, deputy director of Buildings, will be promoted to director of buildings on 13 April. He takes over from Clarice Yu, who will go on pre-retirement leave.

Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung said Choi and Lam are experienced administrative officers with strong leadership skills. She also said Ho has deep expertise in building safety and operations, and is well placed to lead the department.

Yeung thanked Yu for her 29 years of service and her contributions to building safety standards, wishing her a happy retirement.
