Crypto-focused SEBA Bank rebrands to AMINA Bank

It recently clinched a license to offer regulated services in Hong Kong.

Swiss crypto bank SEBA Bank, which recently clinched the license to offer regulated services in Hong Kong, announced that it is rebranding to AMINA Bank AG.

Earlier in August, AMINA Bank– under the name SEBA Hong Kong– had earlier received an Approval In Principle (AIP) from Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission to begin offering regulated services in the digital assets marketplace.

The rebrand marks a new chapter for the company, which had been in operation for almost five years, the bank stated in a press announcement.

The new name stems from the term ‘transAMINAtion’, meaning transference of one compound to another.

AMINA CEO Franz Bergmueller expressed his delight in introducing the world to their new brand identity.

“Whilst we say goodbye to the SEBA name, we remain forever proud of the achievements made by the group under the former brand,” Bergmueller said in a press release.

He added that the Amina brand signifies a new era in the company’s growth and strategy; in particular, that they are a key player in crypto banking and are here to define the future of finance.

“With our client-focused approach, our years of traversing traditional and crypto finance, we offer a platform for investors to build wealth safely and under the highest regulatory standards,” Bergmueller added.

Going into 2024, Bergmueller shared AMINA Bank’s plans to accelerate the growth of our strategic hubs in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi, and to continue its global expansion.

Current clients of AMINA Bank are not expected to be affected by the rebrand other than encountering the new name.

It added that all operations will be business as usual across the board.
