Ant International completes live HKD interbank payments
The transactions involved BOCHK, CCB Asia, and HSBC.
Ant International has completed live HKD interbank transactions with three banking partners between September and October 2026.
The transactions include Bank of China (Hong Kong) interbank transactions with China Construction Bank (Asia) (CCB (Asia)), CCB (Asia) interbank transactions, and HSBC interbank transactions.
These transfers were executed using tokenised deposits settled through the HKMA’s Central Bank Money, and were initiated via Ant International’s proprietary blockchain-based wholesale settlement platform, WhaleRTP.
Ant International said that it was able to automate transaction execution, unlock round-the-clock (24/7) liquidity access, and enhance its real-time cash management within Hong Kong.
This reduces reliance on pre-funding requirements for liquidity movements and lowers working required operating capital, according to Ant International.
Ant International’s next plan involves agentic treasury.
“By pairing real-time intelligence from FalconTST with WhaleRTP’s proven settlement layer, AI agents can now make and execute decisions in continuous, automated flows,” said Kelvin Li, general manager of platform tech and SVP at Ant International.
