HKEx to extend trading hours

9:30am to 4pm schedule will be implemented from March 7 after series of simulation sessions showed positive results.

The trading sessions of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing’s securities market will run from 9.30am to noon and from 1.30pm to 4pm from March 7.

Trading in HKEx’s derivatives markets and the auction sessions of the securities and derivatives markets will also start earlier, as mentioned in an HKEx report.

HKEx conducted a series of market simulation sessions last month to help exchange participants and information vendors in verifying their readiness for the extension of trading hours, and the results were positive.
