
Chinese battery maker CATL eyes $31.16b Hong Kong listing
The listing is estimated to be the biggest this year.
Chinese battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) will sell 117.89 million shares, which news reports estimate will reach $31.16b (US$4b).
The listing is considered the biggest listing in Hong Kong for this year.
CATL will offer $253 per share.
The company, which is also listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, expects to finalise the offer price by 16 May.
In its prospectus, CATL said it has six major R&D centres and 13 battery manufacturing bases worldwide, with service outlets spanning 64 countries and regions. The company’s EV batteries were installed in over 17 million vehicles, which represents one in every three EVs worldwide, and its ESS batteries were deployed in over 1,700 projects across the globe.
