
Manufacturing industrial production index up 1% YoY in Q4 2024
Increases in output volume were recorded mainly in the metal industry.
The index of industrial production for manufacturing industries increased by 1% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a Census and Statistics Department report.
Increases in output volume were recorded mainly in the metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment industry (+3.2%).
Meanwhile, decreases were recorded in the paper products, printing and reproduction of the recorded media (-2.8%), textiles and wearing apparel (-0.8%), and the food, beverages and tobacco industries (-0.3%).
For 2024 as a whole, the index and sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 0.8% and 0.2% YoY, respectively.
In terms of producer prices during the quarter, increases were recorded mainly in the metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment (+7.7%), paper products, printing and reproduction of recorded media industry (+4.8%), and the food, beverages and tobacco industries (+1.0%).
On the other hand, a decrease was recorded in the textiles and wearing apparel industry (-1.2%).
