Prudential keeps business plans steady after D-SII designation
The insurer said it remains strongly capitalised.
Prudential plc said its business and capital management plans remain unchanged after its unit, Prudential Corporation Asia Limited (PCAL), was classified by the Insurance Authority of Hong Kong as a Domestic Systemically Important Insurer (D-SII).
The insurer said it remains strongly capitalised with a shareholder solvency ratio of 267% and a capital surplus of $16.2b.
Prudential added that it supports regulatory efforts to strengthen Hong Kong’s financial system.
