Prudential Hong Kong expands Taikoo Place footprint to 83,000 sq ft
The insurer has occupied the district since 2011.
Prudential Hong Kong Limited has signed an agreement with Swire Properties to expand its office accommodation at Taikoo Place, taking its total space there to approximately 83,000 square feet.
Under the deal, Prudential will consolidate its operations into One Taikoo Place and One Island East. The insurer has been based at Taikoo Place since 2011.
Tim Blackburn, chief executive of Swire Properties said the expansion formed part of Swire Properties' HK$100b investment plan for Taikoo Place, which he said was positioned to serve corporates from Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas.
Lawrence Lam, CEO of Prudential Hong Kong Limited, said the move reflected confidence in Hong Kong's prospects and rising demand for health, protection and wealth solutions, and was intended to support collaboration amongst staff. Taylor said the expansion reinforced Taikoo Place's position as the largest insurance hub on Hong Kong Island.
Prudential has taken part in Swire Properties' Green Performance Pledge sustainability programme since 2022, covering electricity and water usage and waste reduction.
Taikoo Place, together with Cityplaza, houses more than 35,000 office workers and has an occupancy rate of 90%.
The portfolio holds Platinum ratings under the WELL, BEAM Plus and LEED green building certification schemes.
