HK Express, AXA offer parametric delay benefit
If a flight is delayed by 90 minutes or more, passengers can claim a worldwide lounge pass.
HK Express Airways, in collaboration with AXA Hong Kong and Macau, has introduced flight delay parametric protection for passengers who purchase the airline’s U-First service.
The feature makes HK Express the first airline in Asia to provide parametric delay benefits.
Passengers who book U-First at least 48 hours before departure are automatically eligible for the benefit, which monitors flight details in real-time.
If a flight is delayed by 90 minutes or more, passengers can claim a worldwide Airport VIP Lounge Pass valid for six months or a cash benefit of $10.29 (HK$80), applicable only for flights departing from Hong Kong.
Eligible travellers must register via a designated portal to access the benefits.
The addition to U-First, which already offers priority check-in and express boarding, is part of a broader range of travel protection products launched by HK Express through its partnership with AXA.
The airline also provides single-trip travel insurance, annual travel insurance, and personal accident insurance.
HK Express is also expanding its travel protection services to markets in Mainland China and South Korea.
Travelers in these regions can access single-trip insurance products via the airline's official WeChat mini-program or designated web pages.
