HDI Global names new Hong Kong branch CEO, Director

The new CEO’s role is effective 1 November.

HDI Global SE announced the appointment of Michael Ahn as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of HDI Global SE Hong Kong, effective 1 November. 

With over 31 years of experience in the insurance industry, Ahn brings a wealth of leadership knowledge to his new role. 

Currently serving as Head of Business Solutions Asia Pacific at SCOR, he has built a strong track record in the Asia-Pacific insurance market, specialising in Commercial and Specialty single risk lines and facultative reinsurance. 

His primary responsibility will be to drive the strategic growth of the Hong Kong branch while expanding the portfolio across the region.

Alongside this appointment, Daniel Lau, who has served as CEO of the Hong Kong branch for the past 20 years, will transition to a new position as Director of Asia Pacific Network. 

Lau, who has spent 30 years with HDI Global, developed a business that services key markets such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. 

In his new role, Lau will leverage his deep technical expertise and local market knowledge to expand the company's International Programmes across the Asia Pacific region.
