Five in 10 enterprises plan to utilise AI in various areas of operations in 2024.

The number of enterprises in Hong Kong utilising artificial intelligence in various areas of operations is expected to increase to 50% in 2024.

Data from HKPC Digital Transformation showed that currently, only 30% of enterprises have integrated AI tools into their operation processes, such as marketing and customer services.

“Such kind of enterprises would reach nearly 50% within the following year, with the adoption of AI tools in marketing, customer service, and business development/expansion poised to become the mainstream,” the HKPC Digital Transformation said.

Amongst AI tools that have been adopted by enterprises in Hong Kong include chatbots (20%), Optical Character Recognition (OCR) (19%), text generators (14%), image generators (12%), and speech-to-text tools (12%).

Meanwhile, HKPC Digital Transformation also found that 40% of enterprises believe their employees are not proficient in using AI tools, highlighting the need for businesses to provide more training to enhance their employees’ skills in using AI tools effectively.
