Which sectors do Hongkongers prefer to work for the most?

The top industry saw a 3-point increase from 2022 in terms of attractiveness.

The energy and environmental sector is still the most attractive industry to work for in Hong Kong, according to Randstad’s latest survey.

Based on the survey, five in 10 Hongkongers prefer to work in the energy and environment sector. The attractiveness score of the sector also improved by three points from 2022.

Electricity provider CLP Power Hong Kong also emerged as one of the most attractive companies to work for in the city, alongside Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Amongst the 10 industries in the survey, the luxury and retail sector recorded the best improvement, seeing an eight points increase in its attractiveness score (from 42 to 50). 

Overall, the sector ranked second, overtaking the property and real estate industry.

Meanwhile, the survey also found that Hongkongers have a strong preference to work for companies headquartered in the city.
