Welfare cases in Hong Kong dipped 0.2% in July
Caseload stood at 265,438.
In a report, the Social Welfare Department announced that the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload stood at 265,438 in July, with a total of 410,765 recipients.
The number of cases was 0.2% lower than the previous month.
Unemployment cases dipped 0.9% to 22,560, and low-earnings cases fell 0.7% to 9,515.
Ill-health cases and single parent cases both decreased by 0.2% to 25,165 and 30,358.
Old age cases also dropped by 0.1% to 152,272.
Permanent disability cases remained steady at 18,445.
