This translates to 112,300 unemployed persons.
Unemployment levels in Hong Kong remained unchanged at 2.8% in March-May 2018 compared to February-April, according to the Census & Statistics Department.
The number of unemployed persons fell from 112,900 in February to April to 112,300.
“In particular, on the back of strong global demand and buoyant inbound tourism, visible year-on-year declines in unemployment rates were seen in the trade- and tourism-related industries such as import and export trade, retail, and accommodation services,” said Law Chi-kwong, secretary for labour and welfare.
The underemployment rate was also flat at 1% over the same period. This translates to a total of 41,000 underemployed persons.
