Minimum wage for domestic helpers to increase by 2.5%

It will apply to all contracts signed on 28 September.

Domestic helpers will receive a 2.5% salary increase, with minimum monthly wages rising to $4,990.

The new minimum wage will apply to all contracts signed on 28 September.

The Immigration Department will process contracts signed by 27 September or earlier with current minimum rates, provided the applications are received on or before 25 October.

The government said it factored in the city’s economic and labour market conditions over the past year in its review of the Minimum Allowable Wage for foreign domestic helpers.
