Hong Kong feared to lose lustre as ideal place for long-term career

Many will still head back to mainland China.

According to Barclays, a study by Hong Kong Ideas Centre suggested that most mainland postgraduate students and migrant workers in Hong Kong consider Hong Kong an ideal place for a short-term career, but few want to stay long term.

Among 500 mainland Chinese polled, almost three-quarters consider the city an ideal place to work for a short time, while 28% saw good longterm career prospects and 39% planned to return to mainland China eventually.
