HK and Laos ink 12 MoUs covering trade and education collaboration
Laotian students will receive public university scholarships from the HK government.
Hong Kong inked 12 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Laos, covering customs collaboration, investment promotion, trade partnership, financial services, and education exchange.
To promote education exchange, Hong Kong relaxed the visa policy for Laotian talent to work in the city or study in publicly-funded universities.
Hong Kong will also offer scholarships to outstanding students from Vientiane Secondary School (VSS) to pursue full-time undergraduate studies at PolyU.
"The scholarship award value is up to full tuition and living allowances in recognition of students' achievements in academic and non-academic fields," said Professor Ben Young, Vice-President of Student and Global Affairs at PolyU.
