Gov’t opens applications for third InnoHK research cluster
This cluster will focus on sustainable development, energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials.
The Innovation and Technology Commission has invited proposals for the third InnoHK research cluster, SEAM@InnoHK, which will focus on sustainable development, energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials.
This new cluster follows Health@InnoHK, which specialises in healthcare technology, and AIR@InnoHK, which focuses on artificial intelligence and robotics.
InnoHK welcomes applications from top global universities and research institutions in relevant fields.
Selected research centers and laboratories will conduct innovative, collaborative research aimed at addressing real-world challenges and delivering societal benefits both locally and globally.
The subsidies granted to each research center or laboratory will be determined based on the merits of individual proposals.
These funds can be used to cover operational costs, including scholar and research team remuneration, equipment purchases, R&D expenses, and set-up costs such as fitting-out.
“This initiative will not only foster collaboration between leading universities, research institutes, and industries in research and development (R&D) but also accelerate the translation of R&D outcomes into impactful, real-world applications while driving the development of related industries in Hong Kong,” a spokesperson for the Commission said.
