Education Bureau opens application for fourth admission scheme

The scheme is open to local Secondary 6 students taking the 2025 HKDSE.

The Education Bureau has commenced the application for the fourth School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme.

The scheme is open to local Secondary 6 students taking the 2025 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) and starting their undergraduate studies in September 2025. Local secondary schools can nominate two students to apply to one of the participating 300 designated University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded undergraduate programmes.

Eight UGC-funded universities have set admission criteria that are not based on HKDSE results for individual programmes.

Nomination period will run until 4 December.

Participating universities will arrange interviews for nominated students and make offers to successful students before the release of the HKDSE exam results.

The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau will also introduce a new scholarship scheme for admittees with achievements in arts, sports and community service starting next academic year.

Awardees, who are not subject to means testing, will be granted a $10,000 scholarship per year throughout their four-year tuition period.
