4,800 jobs on tap at recruitment expo

Monthly salary ranges from $6,000-$11,000.

According to a release, about 4,800 jobs will be on offer at the North District Recruitment & Training Expo 2013 at Po Wing Road Sports Centre in Sheung Shui on January 11.

The Labour Department, North District Council and Hong Kong Youth Power Association are co-organising the event, in which 64 organisations will participate. Fifty-eight of them will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on the day.

These organisations mainly come from the retail, catering and property-management industries. The jobs offered cover positions such as engineer, beauty consultant, driver, forklift truck driver, gardener, storekeeper, technician, chef, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, cashier, security guard and cleaner.

About 79% of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. More than 98% of these vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 56% are open to job seekers without relevant experience.

The expo will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Po Wing Road Sports Centre, 19 Pak Wo Road, Sheung Shui.
