Hong Kong records 1.38 million visitors during National Golden Week

The daily average of Mainland visitors was around 170,000.

The Immigration Department recorded a total of 1.38 million visitors during the Mainland's seven-day National Day Golden Week, with 1 October seeing a record high of 220,000 since the post-pandemic opening of borders.

The daily average of Mainland visitors was around 170,000 and accounted for 1.22 million, representing 88% of the total arrivals.

The Travel Industry Authority said that 1,050 were from Mainland inbound tour groups, with around 36,000 visitors.

According to the information provided by the hotel industry, the overall hotel occupancy rate from 1 to 4 October reached 90%. 

Moreover, the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line and the Express Rail Link West Kowloon were the two ports with the highest daily average number of Mainland visitors.
