Hong Kong ranks fourth amongst Eid travel searches of Southeast Asians

Hong Kong’s climb into the top five reflects growing interest amongst Muslim travellers.

Hong Kong has emerged as the fourth most-searched city by travellers from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore for Eid al-Fitr getaways this year, according to travel platform Agoda.

Agoda reported an 80% MoM surge in accommodation searches ahead of the holiday, with Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul rounding out the top three.

Hong Kong’s climb into the top five reflects growing interest amongst Muslim travellers, fuelled by targeted efforts from the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to expand Halal-certified services and cultural training in the hospitality sector.

Agoda’s report also noted a growing trend toward family travel during the Eid period, with 34% of travellers planning group trips in 2025. The company urges hoteliers to offer large group accommodations, Halal dining options, and curated cultural experiences.
