Residents planning to visit the region must exercise caution.

Hong Kong has removed the amber alert for Malaysia except for the coastal regions of eastern Sabah where the travel warning remains issued.

“Hong Kong residents who plan to visit the coastal regions of eastern Sabah or are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to their safety and avoid travelling to places with large gatherings of people,” the government said.

“They should also pay attention to announcements by local authorities,” the government added.
