Gov’t develops 9 tourism hotspots to boost consumption
Tourists now favor hotspots with unique Hong Kong features.
The Working Group on Developing Tourist Hotspots will implement nine projects to boost consumption.
Deputy Chief Secretary Cheuk Wing-hing said new travel patterns and tourist preferences increasingly favor hotspots with unique features that reflect the character of Hong Kong.
The projects include the Hong Kong Industrial Brand Tourism, Victoria Park Bazaar, and Pink Trumpet Tree Garden. It also covers the Four Peaks green tourism, which includes the Peak, Lantau Peak, Sai Kung Hoi, and Tai Mo Shan.
The remaining project involves reviving the former Hung Hom Railway Freight Yard Pier into a public space, to open by Q1 2026.
The working group has also selected two featured communities for in-depth tourism, one in Central and the other in Kowloon City. Disciplinary services pioneer tours will also be launched in Q2.
In addition, the Police Museum, the Correctional Services Museum, and the Fire & Ambulance Services Education Centre & Museum will develop and launch tourism products.
