First Hotel Indigo to open in Hong Kong

Boutique hotel to formally open in May in Wan Chai.

Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island will have a soft opening in early April and a formal opening in May. With 138 rooms on 29 floors, the building features a striking gold dragon cast from burnished bronze that helps screen it from hot spots and excessive heat, according to the building’s designers.

Wan Chai MTR station is close by, putting Central, Admiralty and Causeway Bay just a few stops away.

“Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island is bringing something special to the neighborhood of Wan Chai and to Hong Kong” said General Manager Bryan Gabriel.

Hotel Indigo is a chain of boutique hotels and is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group. It is promoted as being the industry’s first branded boutique hotel experience.

The concept includes a retail-inspired design concept with changes throughout the year. Public spaces are transformed seasonally through changing aromas, music, artwork, murals and directional signage.
