Transitional Chinese medicine registration system to end on 30 June
The CMCHK has finalised the transition to formal pCm registrations.
The transitional registration system for proprietary Chinese medicines (pCms) will end on 30 June, after which all pCms sold locally must have valid formal registrations, according to the government.
The Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong has completed the evaluation and approval process for converting all transitional registrations of pCms to formal registrations.
The Health Bureau provided industry funding through the Chinese Medicine Development Fund to support the transition.
Under the Proprietary Chinese Medicine Registration Support Scheme, subsidies were granted to transitional registered holders to engage professional consultants for advice on formal registration matters and to conduct necessary laboratory tests.
The bureau also plans to release the Chinese Medicine Development Blueprint by the end of the year.
