Patek Philippe celebrates the launch of the Cubitus collection in Hong Kong
It showcased bold design and watchmaking mastery.
Following the global launch of the Cubitus collection, Patek Philippe hosted an exclusive event at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong to present these new timepieces to distinguished guests. On this occasion, nearly 500 invitees discovered a decor spanning 3,000 square metres on the site of the former historic airport runway in the presence of Mr Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe.
A new alliance of haute horlogerie, technical daring and sporting elegance

In October 2024, Patek Philippe expanded its repertoire with the introduction of the Cubitus collection, a new line defined by its balance of bold geometry and sporting elegance. The Cubitus is distinguished by a striking square-shaped case with rounded corners and a dial featuring horizontal relief embossing. Unveiled in three original versions, the inaugural models affirm a resolutely assertive character. Following the collection’s success, Patek Philippe expanded the line to include the medium-sized Reference 7128/1 in rose gold and white gold, launched at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025.
A spectacular showcase at Kai Tak
To commemorate this significant addition to the Patek Philippe family, the manufacture selected the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a venue emblematic of Hong Kong’s dynamism. Far from a traditional layout, the event decor was thoughtfully aligned with the Cubitus concept, incorporating vibrant and modern elements to evoke a youthful and fresh spirit, inviting guests to discover the collection in a setting of dynamic sophistication.
As heir to a noble Genevan tradition, Patek Philippe has always attached great importance to the diversity of its designs. A dedicated “Creative Passion” area brought together 15 timepieces of unique design from the 20th century, whilst an interactive digital display regarding “shaped watches”, the non-round models of Patek Philippe, engaged guests in the evolution of these silhouettes from the 1910s to the 1980s.
Behind the scenes of the manufacture

The evening also emphasised the technical substance behind the Cubitus design. Master watchmakers were present to explain the technical features of the collection, enriching guests’ understanding of the research and development, as well as the intricate craftsmanship behind each piece. In the spacious “Try-on” zone, guests were able to try on the full range of Cubitus models and appreciate the design of the new case.
A moment of shared passion
In a warm atmosphere animated by a variety of performances, including live musicians, DJs, drummers, and dancers, guests were able to share their passion for fine watchmaking. The event underscored the manufacture’s commitment to maintaining close ties with its markets and sharing its philosophy of excellence.
About Patek Philippe
For over 180 years without interruption, Patek Philippe has been working to preserve Geneva’s proud heritage in watchmaking artistry. As the last independent, family-owned manufacture, it enjoys total creative freedom in the development and production of timepieces that specialists consider to be the finest in the world – in line with the ambitions and expectations of the company’s founders Antoine Norbert de Patek (1839) and Jean Adrien Philippe (1845). Thanks to its exceptional know-how, Patek Philippe can look back on a tradition of innovation crowned by over 200 patents.
Patek Philippe has always strived for perfection and created timepieces of unexcelled quality and dependability. Precious watches characterised by exclusivity and rarity constitute a unique legacy that is handed down from one generation to the next. Independence, tradition, innovation, quality and fine workmanship, rarity, value, aesthetics, service, emotion, and heritage: these are the ten values upheld by the Genevan manufacture.
In 2009, Patek Philippe launched its proprietary seal of quality for mechanical timepieces. This Patek Philippe Seal by far surpasses all previous quality standards and embraces the entire know-how as well as all prerequisites that are essential for the production, the precision, and the maintenance of an exceptional timepiece. The Patek Philippe Seal applies to the entire completed watch. It is also the sole hallmark in the watch industry that guarantees the upkeep of all watches during their entire lifetime
regardless of the date when they were produced.
The manufacture has been owned by the Stern family since 1932 and today is managed by Thierry Stern. Thierry Stern was appointed President in 2009 and is actively committed to preserving the leading position of Patek Philippe in watchmaking technology and material research with the aim of constantly optimising quality and dependability.
