Johnson & Johnson named strategic enterprise by Hong Kong

The firm will work on clinical research and talent development in the city.

Johnson & Johnson has been selected as a strategic enterprise by Hong Kong’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES), the company announced on 22 October.

The move ties in with Hong Kong’s Five-Year Plan, which aims to turn the city into a health and medical innovation centre with global influence. 

Under the collaboration, Johnson & Johnson will work with the government, healthcare institutions, academia, and industry partners to strengthen clinical research, advance health and medical innovation, and support the development of future healthcare talent.

The company said it aims to help connect local expertise with regional and global innovation networks.

It also plans to explore opportunities in education and knowledge sharing for healthcare and life sciences professionals.

Johnson & Johnson has operated in Hong Kong since 1971 through its medicine and medical technology businesses. Its focus areas include oncology, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, surgery, and vision.
