Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Hospital (KTH) will operate in two phases on 5 October, starting with the opening of the and the Oncology Block.
Under the Specialist Out-patient Clinic Block, the Family Medicine Integrated Centre will be the first to open.
It will initially provide around 250 family medicine clinic quotas per day. Patients with episodic illnesses can make appointments starting from the morning of 4 October.
Specialist out-patient services of the Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Neurosurgery and Clinical Oncology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital will transfer to the new block in batches starting from late October.
Allied health services, pharmacy services, pathology, diagnostic and interventional radiology examinations, and the Patient Resource Centre will also roll out gradually in October, alongside day services for clinical oncology and obstetrics and gynaecology.
Meanwhile, the second phase will see major clinical services, including in-patient, surgical and accident and emergency services.
Clinical services for remaining specialities, including orthopaedics and traumatology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics, will relocate to KTH once in-patient services begin.
