Gov’t to roll out new dental queuing system
This will begin June 11.
A new preliminary registration arrangement for nine dental clinics under the Department of Health will be implemented starting June.
The government said registration will start earlier compared to the current system.
“Currently, preliminary registration begins at midnight on the day of emergency session. Under the new arrangements, registration will begin at 8 P.M. the day before,” it said.
This means that registration under the new system will begin at 8 P.M. on 10 June.
Preliminary registration will stop once the quota for the general public sessions is full.
The government said patients do not have to wait at the clinic after registering. They should return at the scheduled disc-distributing time to obtain a disc and register formally to receive treatment, it added.
This system will be implemented in Kennedy Town Community Complex Dental Clinic, Kowloon City Dental Clinic, Kwun Tong Dental Clinic, Mona Fong Dental Clinic, Tai Po Wong Siu Ching Dental Clinic, Fanling Health Centre Dental Clinic, Tsuen Wan Dental Clinic, Yan Oi Dental Clinic, and Yuen Long Government Offices Dental Clinic.

Authorities said other upgrades in the department are also ongoing. This includes an online disc distribution and registration system for general public dental services this year.
This will eliminate the need to queue in person to obtain a disc. The system will also provide real-time information on the availability of sessions, the government said.
