Visa launches Click to Pay digital checkout service in Hong Kong

The solution aims to offer a faster and more secure experience for both consumers and merchants.

Visa has introduced its Click to Pay digital checkout service in Hong Kong, in collaboration with payment platforms Adyen, AsiaPay, OpenRice, Worldpay, and 2C2P.

Current participating brands include OpenRice, Columbia, Crocs, Hong Kong Duty Free, Marathon Sports, and UGG, with further expansion expected.

Click to Pay is designed to streamline the online checkout process by removing the need for manual card entry or passwords. Transactions can be completed in under one minute, which may help reduce cart abandonment and improve conversion rates for merchants.

The service uses Visa Token Service and complies with EMVCo standards, incorporating multiple layers of security and supporting improved authorisation rates and fraud prevention.

According to Visa, the solution aims to offer a faster and more secure experience for both consumers and merchants. OpenRice, the first platform in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific to implement the solution, has integrated Click to Pay into its services.

To support adoption, Visa is offering promotional discounts until 3 November. On the OpenRice app, Visa cardholders can receive $10 off on Voucher or Takeaway orders of $80 or more using Click to Pay.

ZA Card users are eligible for an additional $20 discount under the same terms.
