A goodwill brand with loyal and satisfied customer

We all have different life goals: life protection, a worry-free retirement, education fund for children at the best schools and colleges, buying new house/car… Building a sound financial plan can help to achieve these goals.

“Ever since our company was founded in 2001, we have been dedicated to providing quality financial services to our customers in the essence of Altruism; just as our company name suggests: for the happiness and welfare of others.” Mr. Albert Lam, President of Altruist Financial Group (Altruist), said proudly. With this commitment to serving clients with excellent financial planning services, no wonder Altruist has been awarded the Hong Kong Business High Flyers Award continuously since 2005.

Protection lays a strong foundation

While insurance protection should be the root of financial planning, most people overlook. Lam explained, “Financial planning includes two major categories: long term protection and saving. Protection products are designed to shield individuals against loss, while saving products seek to accumulate wealth through investment. These two elements serve different roles, yet they complement each other.”

“In general, people tend to demand investment products rather than protection policies; yet the basic logic of financial planning is that, relevant protection products must be employed before focusing on any saving products.”

Lam further elaborated such common pitfall by taking retirement planning as an example. “Thanks to the medical advancement, people are having a longer average life expectancy. But the undeniable fact is that when people are getting older, it also implies more regular trips to the doctor and means occasional hospitalization. While quality medical treatment often comes with expensive bills, if you do not want the medical expenses to consume your retirement fund, a comprehensive coverage is just as essential.”

Only pick what suits you best

Most clients do encounter challenges in choosing financial products from different service providers available in the market, and Altruist’s independence just comes in right to help.

“As an independent financial advisory company, it is not the product providers that we represent, but the clients!” Lam also pointed out that some industry practitioners are merely sales-driven products sellers.

“Simply taking money out from client’s pocket, and propose scattered and unorganized financial plans in a narrowed sense is not really taking care of the client. At Altruist, we are concerned about catering the client’s genuine needs. Backed up by our one-stop shop platform, our financial consultants can easily tailor personalized financial solutions, purely based on the unique needs of clients.”

Quality and integrity

While people’s financial situation does not stay the same throughout life, regular review of financial plans is very important. “Our professional consultants are taught to harness a close relationship with clients. The only aim is to ensure the financial solution that the client acquired is kept up-to-date with his/her ever changing needs in different stages of life.”

This high degree of professionalism and integrity in financial planning makes Altruist stand out in the market.

With clients continuously referring more and more new customers, this is a living proof of the company goodwill. “Altruist is now serving the third generation of some families: the grandparents, parents and now the children also come to us as they grow up and get married, looking for a trusted partner to take care of their financial needs. I believe that we retain our customers because our brand is the top in terms of Quality and Integrity.” Lam explained.

Giving back to the community

Clients are not the company’s only concern, Altruist also engaged in the local community at different levels.

The company sponsored various charitable activities of organisations such as Otic Foundation, Green Council etc; plus offering scholarships for the outstanding students at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Canada.

Awarded with the caring Company Logo since 2003, the whole Altruist family is actively participating in various charities and fund-raising projects such as the Walk for Millions, voluntary services such as blood donation, flag selling days and other volunteer activities for the benefit of underprivileged groups; demonstrating its heart to serve the community better with the steadfast belief of Altruism — the core value at Altruist which makes it a goodwill brand.
