Bank of East Asia temporarily closes 8 branches as employees test COVID positive

Infected employees caused bank branches to close until further notice.

In its press release, BEA said branches temporarily shuttered are Tsuen Wan Sha Tsui Road, Ma On Shan Plaza, Castle Peak Road, Queen's Road Central, Aberdeen, Causeway Bay, Mongkok Business Centre, and Jordan.

To ensure public safety, the bank will conduct disinfection during the closure of the facilities whilst affected staff members will undergo COVID-19 testing and will return to work after receiving negative results.

The BEA imposed split team operations and shifts and encouraged work-from-home arrangements. Further, staff members are reminded to avoid face-to-face or cross-premises and branch meetings and activities whilst it also temporarily adjusted its branch service arrangement
