Towngas and CIMC ENRIC jointly develop green methanol and hydrogen energy

Corporation promotes carbon neutrality goal.

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) and CIMC ENRIC Holdings Limited (CIMC ENRIC) signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly develop green methanol and hydrogen energy.

Both parties have also signed a hydrogen energy agreement to develop projects and applications in Hong Kong, including hydrogen extraction, purification, storage and utilization

Towngas will contribute its international certificated green methanol supply chain network combining with CIMC ENRIC's clean energy and maritime experience, exploring new applications and promote green methanol adoption.

About half of Towngas’s gas supply in Hong Kong through the 3,700 kilometers pipelines comprises hydrogen, supporting the China’s “30-60” dual carbon goals and Hong Kong Government’s 2050 carbon neutrality strategy.
