China Gas to partner in hydrogen energy application

The company has signed a cooperation framework agreement with CNOOC Gas and Power Group.

Piped-gas operator China Gas has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with CNOOC Gas and Power Group, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation, to jointly develop the application of hydrogen as an energy source.

The parties will draw on their industry expertise and will establish a long-term partnership in skid-mounted natural gas hydrogen production system, construction of hydrogen refueling stations, multi-energy complementary and integrated energy supply projects.

“China Gas and CNOOC Gas and Power Group have done a tremendous amount of work in the past, applying their complementary advantages, to develop the use of hydrogen energy and uncover potential commercial value and relevant new business models to achieve win-win. Together we aim to promote the commercialization of hydrogen energy and the growth of the industry,” China Gas chairman Liu Ming Hui said.
