
Hong Kong's June foreign assets up $14.8bn
Exchange Fund bills and notes issued reached $1.05tn while claims on the private sector in Hong Kong amounted to $114.6bn.
The foreign assets of the Exchange Fund amounted to $2.136 trillion in June, up $14.8 billion on May.
The Monetary Authority said the Monetary Base, comprising Certificates of Indebtedness, Government-issued currency notes and coins in circulation, the Aggregate Balance and Exchange Fund Bills and Notes issued, amounted to $1.0545 trillion.
Claims on the private sector in Hong Kong amounted to $114.6 billion, according to a Monetary Authority report.
Foreign liabilities, representing mainly obligations under repurchase agreements, amounted to $300 million.
