Gov’t to distribute first round of $3,000 vouchers in April

The remaining $2,000 will be given in July.

The Hong Kong government announced it will be distributing the first round of $3,000 vouchers on 16 April.

The remaining $2,000 of the $ 5,000 vouchers will be distributed on 16 July.

“Referring to past experience, about slightly over 60% of the consumption voucher amount was spent on retail. Another about 20% was on food and beverage,” Financial Secretary Paul Chan said.

“The rest was for services. The amount spent on travelling is pretty small, about 5%.”
